Weber BasinEast Canyon Reservior
(May 2007)

The total Weber River Basin reservoir content is 388,000 acre-feet. This is down 37,000 acre-feet from last year. Much of this is due to a storage restriction on Willard Bay Reservoir.

Weber Basin Water Conservancy District

Weber Basin Water Conservancy District’s reservoir storage is at 247,000 acre-feet or 64% of capacity.  Full capacity represents a two-year water supply.  Upstream storage is at 84%.  The upstream storage is necessary to make the exchanges on the Weber River.  Willard Bay Reservoir active storage is 90,700 acre-feet or 46% of capacity.  There is a storage restriction on Willard Bay Reservoir due to problems with the foundation under the dam.  Over half of the water in the reservoir was drained during the winter to alleviate pressure on the dam and foundation on the east edge of the reservoir.

Weber Basin has 49,900 acre-feet in Rockport (Wanship), 6,300 acre-feet in Echo, 51,100 acre-feet in Pineview, 6,900 acre-feet in Causey, 19,400 acre-feet in East Canyon, 16,900 acre-feet in Lost Creek, and 6,000 acre-feet in Smith_Morehouse Reservoirs.

Weber Basin has not put a restriction on irrigation deliveries.

Weber Basin will continue their water conservation efforts which include a no-watering time from 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM for the areas that they serve directly and working with the districts and cities that they supply encouraging and helping them to pass ordinances requiring the same watering schedule.
